Estimating the Cost of a Single Window Panel Liner
One of the best things about the pricing of our Panel Liners is how simple it is to provide estimates. If the Panel you are quoting has only one window, regardless of the width of its borders, whether or not it has a rabbet, or how thick it might be, if you use a cost of $1.00 per outside united inch you will virtually always be within a dollar or two of its true cost.
Below you can read more about how we identify the various different thickness' of Panels and also see how to get the exact price of any Panel, including ones with multiple openings, oval or round openings, or those including other features that increase the cost by a few dollars, but remember $1.00 per outside united inch is the quick answer to the cost of most Panels.
Calculating the Exact Price of a Custom Panel Liner
Determining the cost of one of our Panel Liners is as easy as pricing a mat. All you need to know is the thickness of the Panel, its outside size and the fabric that will be covering it. Since Panel Liners are basically priced by the OUTSIDE UNITED INCH, these three elements will get you the base price of a Panel with a single opening.
Here is an example of a Panel Liner product entry code:

FIRST DIGIT is always the letter "P" as in Panel
SECOND DIGIT is the thickness of your particular Panel expressed in eighths. For example if you are ordering a Panel that is 5/8" thick, the thickness of a typical french bevel liner, you would enter the number 5 for the second digit in its product entry code.
After these first two digits enter a hyphen. The next part of the Panel description is the number of the fabric you wish to have covering your Panel. In the item shown above, the fabric is #475.
If you enter this product code in the "Mats" section of your software it should bring up a cost of $0.80 per outside united inch. This cost can be multiplied by the total outside united inches of your job to give you the cost of a basic single opening Panel Liner. So, for example, if you wanted to order a 5/8" panel that had two rectangular openings (regardless of their size) each with a 25 degree bevel and its own rabbet and your Panel had an outside measurement of 24" X 36" here is what it would cost:
5/8" Panel covered with a Group 1 fabric (#475) = $1.00 per OUI
24" + 36" = 60 Outside United Inches (OUI) $1.00 X 60 = $60.00
One additional opening after the first costs $5.00 so add that to the $60.00 for a total of $65.00. You just need to tell us what sort of spacing you want between your windows and what sort of borders you want on each of the sides. Your cost for this Custom Panel, including covering it with the fabric and the two windows is just $65.00.
In the case of multiple opening Panel Liners or Panels that include circular or oval openings there a small surcharges much as are common in the pricing of mats. There are also discounts available for purchases of multiple units of the same Panel Liner. The most common surcharges and discounts are listed below.
Additional Rectangular Openings after the first one - $5.00 each for openings 2-6, we can quote for additional openings beyond that.
Include a Round or Oval Opening - $3.00 for the first one, $8.00 for each additional one up to 7, we can quote for more than 7.
1/4" and 3/8" Panels do not normally include a rabbet, 1/2", 5/8" and 3/4" panels typically include a rabbet.
The default configuration of the edge around an opening on a Panel Liner is a 25 degree bevel. Other bevels or configurations such as a radius are also available.
Discounts available for purchases of multiple units of the same Panel Liner - 10% for qty of 5-9 units, 15% for quantity of 10 or more
