One of the nice things about having been in this business for such a long time is that you come to recognize a few companies that are exceptionally good at what they do when compared with the norm.  We think the best way to thank them for their excellent work is to share their names with you.  None of these companies provides any compensation for this endorsement and none would ever be requested.  The only way a company gets listed here is by doing their job exceptionally well.

Chopper Blade Sharpening - Hollow Ground

We have worked with this company for over 20 years and never had a single problem with the literally hundreds of sets of blades they have sharpened.  If you are not familiar with the difference between hollow ground blades and flat ground blades you should be.  Hollow grinding chopper blades produces a sharper blade that will stay sharp longer because their is less wear as the blade moves through the material.  Cutting Liners with hollow ground blades produces a much cleaner cut.
The only situation where hollow ground blades may not be suitable is if you have to use these same blades to cut any of the hardest woods like oak or jatoba.  In this case the sharper tip of the hollow ground blade can be more easily chipped.

Saw Blades

We have worked with this company for nearly a decade.  They have been enormously supportive of our effort to determine the ideal characteristics of blades used to cut fabric-covered liners. With their assistance we created a "blade demo" program that allows Framers to see for themselves the difference the right blade can make in cutting fabric-covered liners.  We believe the quality of their blades, is surpassed only by the quality of their service.  Our Industry is lucky to have such a supplier.
